THE 2024 FANTASY STEAMPUNK BUNDLE

The 2024 Fantasy Steampunk Bundle - Curated by Kristine Kathryn Rusch

Steampunk has become a thing. A cool thing, so much so that even people who don't read much wear steampunk clothing. But those of us who do read…well, we have a wealth of steampunk to choose from.

Like any other established genre, steampunk is slowly breaking out of its genre mold. It now incorporates fantasy and science fiction and other time periods (post-Victorian) and lots and lots of experimentation.

Of course, there's still the standard and much-beloved versions of steampunk, exploring a world that never existed, but could have…and maybe should have.

We have lots of great steampunk here. We have the traditional kind by writers who have taken the genre to new heights. Steampunk fans will recognize Gail Carriger, Christine Pope, and Colleen Gleason. Kari Kilgore and J. Daniel Sawyer also explore steampunk as we know it.

Steampunk fans will find their favorite writers in our two anthologies as well, Fiction River: Alchemy & Steam, which is more traditional, and Clockwork Universe, which takes out of the familiar Victorian world into new and more exotic places. Then there's the monstrous side of steampunk, as explored by Richard A. Kirk and Michael Warren Lucas. Michael's book looks at a post-steampunk world, one that came from the steampunk we knew and takes us fifty (or so) years into the future. (Which is still our past; sometimes timelines make my brain hurt.)

I've included my newest book here, Barkson's Journey, which is set in a fantasy world with steampunk influences. Even though this is (supposedly) the second book in a series, it stands alone, like Barkson herself usually does.

In these e-pages, you will find great heroines and scary monsters. You'll experience magic and a lot of tech that really shouldn't work but does. You'll see worlds you've never seen before, and settle into the beloved steampunk world you've always known. You will find romance, and you will have adventures.

Best of all, you'll find great writers telling great stories, the kind you can't put down.

We have a new charity for this bundle. The charity is near to my heart. Girls on the Run helps young girls all over the country gain confidence in their bodies. Girls on the Run trains girls from grades three to eight to run, yes, but also to believe in themselves. If you want to see what they do, click here. https://www.girlsontherun.org/

There's probably a branch of Girls on the Run in your community.

If we give girls the same confidence we give our fictional heroines, then they become heroines in real life. So please, as you purchase, give a few dollars to support girls and help them achieve an incredible future.

Lots of great reading and, if you so choose, one really great charity to support—all for as little as $20. And surprisingly, you'll be trendy too. So share this with your steampunk friends. They'll enjoy this bundle too. – Kristine Kathryn Rusch
