The Ghosts and Hauntings Bundle - Curated by Kristine Kathryn Rusch
The easiest Halloween costume to make is also the most iconic. Put a white sheet over your body, cut out eye holes, and wave your arms. Suddenly, you're a ghost!
I suspect a lot of people go through that Suddenly, you're a ghost! moment, and it is much more surprising than putting a sheet over your head. So many ghost stories deal with the newly dead who can't accept their change in circumstance.
Those ghosts are generally harmless. We pity them or want them to come back or hope they're going to move on soon enough.
Then there are the angry ghosts, the ones who blame others for their circumstances (and who want to make more ghosts), the terrifying ghosts that excel at the Jump Scare, and my favorite—poltergeists, who are generally teenagers just acting out.
Every type of ghost appears in the ebooks in this bundle, including some types I can't think of right now. Traditional ghost stories? Sure. Untraditional ghost stories? You betcha. Romantic ghost stories? Oh, yeah (my favorite). Scary ghost stories? Oh, my yes.
This bundle includes 3 novels. Dayle A. Dermatis gives us gothic, complete with ghosts. Lisa Silverthorne explores life Between our world and the next, as does Robert J. McCarter.
The remaining seven books are filled with short stories and novellas. From the strange stories pulled from Pulphouse Fiction Magazine to the even stranger stories from Dean Wesley Smith's imagination, WMG Publishing gives us a lot of strange fiction. T. Thorn Coyle's book focuses on a single character who can see (and help) ghosts. R.W. Wallace's collection of her ghost detective stories isn't quite an exclusive, but it comes close. You won't find the book in any of the traditional ebook retailers, so get yours on StoryBundle.
That leaves our three exclusives. Annie Reed takes traditional ghost stories and turns them upside down in a way only Annie can. Robert Jeschonek always takes an idea and makes it strange just by breathing. My Ghostly Musings collects ghost stories from throughout my career, with a surprising (to me) musical thread throughout.
Award-winning stories. Great novels. Memorable characters. These ebooks have it all.
But, before you get your copies, please remember the folks who don't have it all. We have made it easy for you to donate a little money to World Central Kitchen, which goes everywhere that disaster (and war) strikes, to make sure that people are fed. Such basics, which become impossible to get when life goes awry.
So as you pick up your books, add a small donation to World Central Kitchen.
Thanks so much! – Kristine Kathryn Rusch
